Water monitoring

Welcome to the Water Measurement Information System.

The surface water and groundwater data contained in WMIS is collected through the Regional Water Monitoring Partnerships. There are currently 51 organisations within these Partnerships, covering state government (DEECA), Commonwealth government (Bureau of Meteorology and Murray Darling Basin Authority), water corporations, catchment management authorities and local government councils.

WMIS is the primary access point to search, discover and download surface water (water level, flow and water quality) and groundwater (water level and water quality) monitoring data. WMIS now contains real time data (less than 1 hour old) data for all telemetered surface water gauges and groundwater bores.

Data and information on community water monitoring is available at: www.vic.waterwatch.org.au

*** Please note: all data times are Eastern Standard Time (no adjustment for Daylight Saving Time). ***

Please continue to give the WMIS team your feedback on this site by contacting the site administrators by email or select contact on the left hand navigation window.
